An unknown man brandished a firearm during a robbery at a Bay Area Casino early Monday morning within the community of Pacheco, according to reports from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 4:45 am on Monday morning to a reported robbery that was happening at the California Grand Casino located at 5988 Pacheco Boulevard.
It was reported by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department that a man who was wearing a Halloween mask entered the card room at the casino and that he was armed with a semi-automatic rifle.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s deputies as well as other law enforcement officials responded as they set up a perimeter around the California Grand Casino building but the suspect was not to be found during their security sweep of the building, stated the sheriff’s department officials.
There were no injuries reported among the employees or the patrons of the California Grand Casino, who had been made to leave the building.
Jimmy Lee who is the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s spokesperson, was not instantly able to say what the suspect stole from the California Grand Casino.
Contra Costa County Sheriff’s officials stated that the suspect was approximately 6 foot tall, weighing about 200 pounds, wearing dark pants, a black hooded jacket, as well as orange gloves. The suspect is believed to have fled the scene of the crime in a four door Mercedes Benz.
The management of the California Grand Casino are not at this time commenting on the robbery that took place; many of the employees as well as the patrons that were inside at the time of the robbery did not even know that a crime was taking place.
