Internet Gaming more popular in New Jersey

Internet Gaming Win in New Jersey rose by 32.6% compared to same period last year

From the May 2016 Report of the Division of Gaming Enforcement of the State of New Jersey it is evident that the total gaming revenues in the state fell slightly. Total Gaming Win figures were slightly lower compared to same period last year.

In the meantime, Delaware online casino operators received record revenues during last month. It is interesting to note that operators in this state have been receiving record revenues for three months in a row, with each month bringing in higher revenues than the previous.

Total Gaming Win in New Jersey Fell Slightly, Pokerstars Leads the Online Poker Market

In July 2015, we reported that remote gambling revenues in New Jersey in June 2015 grew significantly compared to the same period in 2014. The Internet Gaming Win was $16.54m in May this year, which a 32.6% increase compared to May 2015 when it was a mere $12.5m. This shows that online gaming is gaining popularity in the country, even though in April it was 2.1% higher than in May.

If we’re speaking of Total Gaming Win, then the story is slightly different, as the amount was $219.8m this year, whereas it was higher by $1.3m during the same period last year. It is a decline of only 0.6% though. The online poker revenue is still only a bit higher than 15% of total revenues, which makes this percentage relatively stable. Online casino revenue represented 84.5% of all internet revenues and here there was practically no difference compared to same period last year, as in May 2015 it was 84.6%.

When it comes to individual operators, Borgata and Party Poker still holds the lion share and they control 23.8% of the online market, with Caesar’s Interactive behind them at 19.7%. Golden Nugget – Befair came in third with 19.3%, 0.3% more than Tropicana. Resorts were behind by almost one percent (18.1%) and this operator claimed the fifth place. When it comes to poker, Pokerstars control slightly less than half of the market with 44.8%, leaving Borgara – Party and Caesars – WSOP behind at 28.5% and 26.7% respectively.

Delaware Online Casino Operators Earn $282,112 in May

Statistics published by Delaware Lottery show that the three casino operators in the state collectively earned $282,112.30 in May 2016. The figure for March was slightly over $260,500, whereas in April it was almost $268,000. Both figures were record-breaking, which means that the industry in Delaware is growing at an unprecedented pace.

A vast majority of the amount came from online slots, over $185,000 which is more than two thirds. Almost $55,000 were collected from table games and poker accounted for $40,000 of the amount collected. This may was only the sixth month since late 2013 when the revenues exceeded $200,000.  The total online gambling market in Delaware saw a fall from $2m in 2014 to about $1.8 in 2015. However, it is more than certain that it will grow this year.
