While we have certainly come to expect nothing less than perfection from NetEnt, it seems even they can make an ordinary game without anything particularly eye catching. With five reels and twenty paylines, Golden Shamrock focuses on the theme of Irish mythology centred around leprechauns, pots of gold and rainbows.

To the benefit of the game, it does not cut corners and embraces the theme fully. Different coloured sacks of gold, a harmonica, mugs of beer and a smoking pipe form the lower paying symbols of the game, while the green hat, the harp, a golden horseshoe and a pot of gold are the higher paying icons in the slot. Alongside that, we have a Wild represented by a Leprechaun and a Scatter portrayed as a golden three leaf clover.

Other than the expanding Wilds, the game does have another extra feature active in the form of several bonus games. While we hoped for a bit more involvement, NetEnt decided that it would be enough.

Bonus Round

The slot features a bonus game round, activated by securing three or more Scatter symbols on the reels. When the free spins are activated, the game offers you a choice between one of the three Scatters on the reel, and clicking on them will award you a certain number of spins and a multiplier that remains active until the bonus games end.

To make the feature better, you can retrigger it, so long as at least two Scatters appear on the reels while the free spins are active.

Scatter Symbol

The Scatter symbol in this game is depicted as a golden shamrock, from which the slot’s name comes from. That said, apart from triggering the bonus round special feature, the Scatter remains a static icon and brings no other benefit to the fold.
