Nevada Bettors Could Use Existing Accounts for Casino Gaming
- December 8, 2016 By Nemanja L. -
Nevada Gaming Control Board is considering the possibility of amending the current legal framework and that is very good news for gaming enthusiasts in the area.
For the time being, separate regulations are in place for different types of gambling, and while sports betting accounts can now only be used for sports wagers and certain games, this looks set to change.
The Gaming Control Board (GCB) chairman A.G. Burnett has confirmed plans to change the gaming regulation that is currently in place, stating that the aim was to bring different types of gaming into alignment, which would allow gamers to use a single account for various forms of gambling.
A special workshop is scheduled for Thursday and this is where the GCB will discuss the proposed changes that could have a very positive effect on the state’s gaming sector.
The gaming industry had requested said change a while back, and the Gaming Control Board seems to have recognised the opportunity to put things into motion.
The new legal framework will also ensure that wagering voucher no longer only applies to physical piece of paper, but also includes digital vouchers, as electronic payments are quickly taking over from cash deposits.
Nevada Gaming Sector on the Rise
This is clearly another great news for Nevada casinos, who have enjoyed several very good months when it comes to overall gaming revenue.
Combined October revenue of all Nevada casino establishments rose 11.2% to $887.5 million when compared to October 2015, albeit failing to match September’s $949 million figure.
The sports betting sector has been on the rise as well, earning around $42.3 million in October, which was a 26 percent increase when compares to the same period last year.
