Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has announced the introduction of a brand-new licensing system, which aims to simplify the whole process.
Joseph Cuschieri, MGA’s executive chairman and Silvio Schembri, a Maltese parliamentary secretary unveiled the new system developed and realized through a partnership with Microsoft.
The system was revealed during a press conference.
Easy to Apply
Essentially, the New Licensee Relationship Management System represents a digitilized version of the traditional land-based licensing process and is offered online via a dedicated web portal.
Following the announcement, Cuschieri said the MGA was taking another step towards achieving efficiency and innovation in the way it operated by implementing the latest information technology in regulatory processes.
He was adamant the new project would further aid the MGA in providing a top-end service to its licensees. Cuschieri stressed the MGA’s main objective remained the same – to exceed the expectations of all its stakeholders.
It is clear the launch of the new licensing system is a good way of achieving that objective.
Silvio Schembri added the new project formed part of the government’s vision for the overall improvement of the Maltese gaming jurisdiction.
Schembri stated the MGA would offer additional initiatives similar to this one, aimed at excelling in the service given to those interested in investing in Malta. He repeated the ultimate goal was to offer a service that would exceed the expectations of the operators.
One Stop Shop for Potential Licensees
The project will be split into multiple phases, while the first one will involve applying for remote gaming licenses. All interested operators will also have to make a request for a dynamic seal URLs, as well as submitting players liability and gaming tax reports.
According to the MGA, the new system will give operators the option to track the status of their online application. Following the successful completion of the first phase, the MGA plans to extend the system to land-based operations, such as casinos, the national lottery, and commercial bingo operators.
The ultimate goal of the system is to become the one-stop source for all those who are interested in obtaining a Maltese gaming license.
