Return to Paris - BetSoft
About Return to Paris Slots
The game of cops and robbers is as old as games themselves, and Betsoft are back for another stab at the hustling theme. The Return to Paris slot game is a sequel to Betsoft’s original A Night in Paris. Released all the way back in 2011, the original game was quite innovative at the time. It was also apparently very successful, so the sequel has big shoes to fill.
The initial pitch is quite promising, too. Return to Paris is all about a chase between a museum thief and a cop hot on his heels. The mechanics fit in nicely with the theme, with the interactions between the two protagonists acting as a catalyst. For instance, the Robber gathers up treasures, which stack multipliers until the Cop catches him. We’ll get into the details below.
For now, we’ll make note of the wonderful graphics on display. Betsoft Return to Paris looks quite colorful, with cartoonish characters and an enchanting backdrop. It’s a clear step up from its predecessor – which is to be expected considering the 10-year age difference.
How to Play
The core premise of how Return to Paris slot works is fairly simple. This is a 5-reel slot with 20 pre-set paylines. Your goal is to arrange identical symbols along said paylines from left to right, starting with the leftmost reel. It’s a classic video slots formula that we’re sure most of you are familiar with.
Beyond that, the biggest draw of this title comes from the special features. It’s also worth noting that there are only 8 regular-paying symbols. Considering this is a 5x3 slot grid, that’s a fairly decent hit rate in the long run.
Extra Features
The first of the several Return to Paris features is fairly unique and enjoyable.
It starts whenever the Robber appears on the table. He will steal a nearby symbol and add it to his collection, which is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Each stolen symbol increases the running multiplier by 1x. Once the stolen treasure is safely tucked away, the Robber symbol will be replaced by a random regular symbol.
Once the Cop appears, he’ll return all the stolen goodies to the museum. In practice, this means every symbol stolen so far will pay out like a 3x combo of the same symbol. This big cashout is also multiplied.
If the Robber and Cop appear next to each other at any point, they will transform themselves and all adjacent symbols into Wilds! Of course, Wilds may also appear naturally during regular spins.
The Mona Lisa-looking painting acts as a Scatter and pays out anywhere on the table. 3 or more Scatters will trigger Return to Paris free spins. The free spin mode in this game is especially fun. The Cop and Robber will chase each other around the table, with the Robber stealing symbols along the way with each respin. When the Cop catches the Robber, the treasures pay out as usual and the mode ends. Due to the open-ended nature of free spins, you can win up to 1,000 of them!
Return to Paris on Mobile
Just like every Betsoft title, you can play Return to Paris slot on mobile. The interface remains just as usable, with the regular options and settings. In fact, the simple UI plays especially well on mobile devices. You can enjoy this game on the go by registering at any Betsoft-powered online casino with mobile support.
All in all, Return to Paris is a recipe for success in our eyes. The fun mechanics make this game immediately stand out from the crowd. We’re quite partial to the mechanics of stealing and retrieving treasures/symbols. It fits the theme perfectly – especially when the two protagonists start chasing each other during Free Spins!
