Betfair Finds New Casino Partner in New Jersey
- November 20, 2014 By Nemanja L. -
World-famous gaming operator Betfair has announced the partnership with Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City which will become the new home for their services targeting New Jersey customers. The company hopes to make the switch official on Friday, pending approval from the regulatory bodies.
Online gaming companies are required to team up with a land-based casino in Atlantic City if they wish to target New Jersey residents and Betfair has finally found a trusted partner after two unsuccessful attempts.
The UK-licensed operator initially partnered with Trump Plaza, but the deal fell through as the casino establishment closed their operations in September.
Betfair were then granted a grace period to find a new home in Atlantic City and they in turned signed an agreement with Caesars Entertainment in October, but have now decided to make another switch, having moved to Golden Nugget Casino offices.
Considering that New Jersey legislation allows casinos to host up to five online platforms, BetfairCasino.com and GoldenNuggetCasino.com will be operating separate from one another.
Betfair US Senior Vice President for Gaming, Don Ryan was delighted to strike up a deal with Golden Nugget, revealing plans to further accelerate US growth in years to come.
New Jersey facing online websites of Golden Nugget and Betfair have seen excellent results of late, with the two operators accounting for one fourth of the state’s market share in October.
About Betfair Group
Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Betfair launched in June 2000, and has since developed into one of world’s largest gaming companies. Running the world’s largest betting exchange, the gaming operator expanded to the US market over the last few years, that is ever since they acquired the TVG Network in 2009, with the cable and satellite network becoming the largest gaming network in the United States.
BetfairCasino.com was rolled out in New Jersey in November 2013 and has been on a constant uptrend in spite of said licensing issues. The new deal with Golden Nugget Casino is expected to provide additional stability to the brand in the United States and ensure the steady growth continues for the foreseeable future.
