Betsoft Releases Sequel to The Hive Slot Game

Mystic Hive builds on the concepts of it’s predecessor, but does not replace them.

At first glance, this take on online slots will be immediately familiar to those who’ve tried the previous installment. Of course, that means it will seem quite unusual to those who haven’t. The original beehive theme was inspired by its honeycomb-like grid.

In effect, this was 5 reels with different numbers of cells in a 3-4-5-4-3 layout. These then combine into 30 active paylines that can result in myriad different winning combinations.  It takes some getting used to, but that just makes it a memorable online gaming experience.

The Honey Meter is also back, though this time it’s dubbed the Nectar Meter. Filling this bar can result in free spins and multipliers. Your initial reaction may be that the only difference to the original Hive are the looks. Mystic Hive keeps its predecessor’s colourful aesthetics, though with a more mysterious purple palette.

However, different bonuses – fireflies, in this case – can this time be combined for different effects. Green ones, for instance, will make a mystical swarm appear and additional effects to nearby cells. Also, the fireflies move with each spin, so they can appear anywhere on the grid.

On a more technical side, Mystic Hive boasts a 96.13% RTP rate with multipliers up to 243x. According to official Betsoft Gaming announcements, they’re hoping to further expand on the honeycomb grid idea in the future.
