DFS and Sportsbook Merged Into One in Premier Punt’s New App
- May 10, 2017 By Riley Wilson -
Scotland-based daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator, Premier Punt, has a real treat for fans of fantasy sports and sports betting.
Premier Punt already owns a pool betting licence for its fantasy products but has recently received a sportsbook licence from the United Kingdom Gambling Commission.
What is the App About?
The next step was the launch of the new mobile application that merged the company’s offer into one.
The application is already available for devices running iOS and Android and allows users to place traditional sports wagers on their fantasy football teams.
John Gordon, chief executive of Premier Punt, said this was a groundbreaking move that would change not only the daily fantasy sports and sports betting industry in the UK, but also in Europe.
He stated Premier Punt has a unique offer on the market, which would undoubtedly increase the number of players, since it was equally appealing to those who liked DFS and those who preferred to bet on sports.
The Future is Now
Gordon added he strongly believed this would be the future of the industry, but said he didn’t expect any major operators in the DFS to follow in their footsteps.
He said no big moves would be made because of the US market, where DFS was still regarded as a game of skill, so there could be no merger with any form of gambling.
Gordon concluded that the new business model would be successful even in the most demanding markets in the world.
