- November 17, 2015 By Samantha A. -
The Casino that is located in Springfield, Massachusetts is already set to cost MGM $800 million dollars.
MGM is now presenting some major changes to its expensive plan that will run $800 million dollars for the set design of the Casino being constructed in Springfield Massachusetts.
This proposal that was mad by MGM who is considered to be Las Vegas’ Casino Giant was the focus point of the forum that will be held at City Stage on Wednesday at 4:00pm. Here at the forum MGM will give their presentation of the proposed changes to the plan as well as answer any questions that the city officials may have.
In short, the MGM Company would like to get rid of a 25 story hotel tower that is already standing and they would like to replace this hotel with a six story hotel that has the same number of guest rooms, the guest room’s total 250. In their proposal MGM also wants to relocate an apartment complex from being on the 14 acre site to a location downtown. Within this proposal they would also like to scale back the overall size of the planned resort by approximately 14 percent.
MGM has stated that the design changes that they are proposing, that require the approval from the state and city, are needed due to the rising cost of building expenses.
On Thursday, after MGM presents their proposal at City Stage on Wednesday at 4:00 pm, the company has planned to publicly discuss their planned changes in their original plan with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
