Play’n Go Gets Ready to Launch in the US After Michigan License Approval
- July 18, 2022 By Riley Wilson -
One of the largest gaming entertainment suppliers in the world Play’n GO has set its sights on the US market. This has been a long time coming for its chief executive Johan Törnqvist. He calls this achievement a ‘landmark moment’ for the company. Though it started in the Scandinavian region, Play’n GO has been rapidly and efficiently expanding. The company now has 600 employees working globally and 25 regulated markets worldwide. As aforementioned, their newest ambition is the United States for the first time. They will be starting with Michigan as soon as their securing license gets approval.
Us Views on Gambling
It is not a secret that online gambling in the US has been a topic of great controversy and legal restriction; However, in recent times it has been getting increasingly regulated. It has also been recently presented in a healthy way as just another form of entertainment to be done responsibly. With the slow and steady legalization of different forms of gambling like the May 2018 US legalization of sports betting in various countries, the general views on gambling are improving.
As for Michigan, in December 2019, all forms of online gambling have been legalized. As long as a state license is acquired that is. The “Lawful Internet Gaming Act” in Michigan legalizes anything from online casino games to online lottery tickets. This opens the way for Play’n GO and other European companies to expand their business in the American market.
Play’n GO in the US
This specific online casino supplier has been preparing for its US debut for a long time now. It seems Michigan is by no means their stopping point. Their beginnings in casino games for mobile devices and their transition to smartphones has heavily prepared them for the vast expanse that are the American states. With the license approval they will enter the states with more than 25 regulated markets globally. Their aim as per Johan Törnqvist is to become beloved in the US as they are in every other market around the world.
“We know that each regulated market is different, and that this will take time in the US, but we are absolutely committed to expanding our footprint across the country,” said Johan Törnqvist.
