SBC Awards 2021: The Results
- December 23, 2021 By Riley Wilson -
The Sports Betting Community (SBC) awards are about a lot more than just sports wagers. Some of the biggest categories of the event feature top online casinos and providers.
The 2021 edition of the SBC awards ended on December 14. Here are some of the results that we here at Casino directory found interesting.
Betsson Group Leads as an Operator
The Betsson group owns multiple well-known casino brands such as Rizk, Guts, and BetSafe. Their breadth of offers ranging from online sportsbooks to casinos and bingo rooms earned them over 11 nominations this year. Most importantly, they were ultimately singled out as the Casino Operator of the Year.
What makes this victory so impressive s the fierce competition Betsson was up against. LeoVegas won the prestigious Operator awards three years prior, which made them the clear favorites. In 2021, though, this operator dropped down to be the runner-up. 888Casino has also been picking up other awards throughout the year, which made them another obvious choice.
However, it seems Betsson’s ability to juggle multiple brands and cater to diverse audiences won the day. Betsson also picked up an award for the Socially Responsible Sportsbook of the Year.
Other Awards Across the Casino Sector
There are a few other standout awards we found interesting.
Mr Green was awarded for being the top Socially Responsible Casino of the Year. This decision was likely made on the back of the Green Gaming Tool and its continuous improvement. This tool allows players to track, analyze, and assess their own behavior. If you’re showing signs of risk gambling, the tool will help you mitigate them.
Pragmatic Play was named the Casino / Slots Developer of the Year. It seems their insistence on releasing one slot per month has not gone unnoticed.
As expected, Evolution picked up most of the awards for Live Casino and Innovation categories.
Last but not least, Trustly was dubbed the Payment Solution of the Year.
